If you like your sounds a little left field, you’ll probably know all about the enigmatic and eclectic GHOST FUNK ORCHESTRA. The collective is the brainchild of composer/multi-instrumentalist SETH APPLEBAUM and their last album, ‘A Trip To The Moon’ delivered all kinds of everything – soul, psych rock, salsa, funk, soundtracks, jazz and even sound bites from the actual audio transmissions between the crew of Apollo 11 and the capsule communicator at the Mission Control Center in Houston, Texas.
Now if you want things even more spaced out, even more left field, one of the LP’s key tracks, the ethereal ‘Totality’ has just won remix status from CROWN LITES. That team is made up of Brooklyn’s Matt Kurskmark and Mike Sarason and they’ve previously worked with Say She She, Combo Lulo and many more.
What Crown Lites do with ‘Totality’ is to take the tune deeper into space via a hypnotic dub reggae treatment which over its four minute journey becomes quite a trip! If you want to get on board, this mix is out now via Colemine.
