Over the last couple of years the soul world has enjoyed the emergence of a major new talent… Ms CARMY LOVE. Brought up in a music mad family, Londoner Carmy first worked with New Street Adventure on their 2014 Acid Jazz album, ‘No Hard Feelings’. She provided classy BVs and the quintet brought her in because of her grounding in gospel. After that Ms Love worked with Cool Million and the House Gospel Choir but in 2021 she stepped out on her own with the ab fab, Thinkin’ About You’.
That was followed by the lovely modern soul groove, ‘Rebel’ and another top notch contemporary soul cut – ‘Together Again’. Now just in time for the Christmas party season, Carmy is launching a new single ‘In The Morning’ . This one is another engaging contemporary soul groove with its roots deep in soul’s storied past. It boasts a Memphis/Muscle Shoals soul vibe… driving bass and honking baritone sax, the works! It’s a sort of Daptone plus sound with Carmy in fine form.
Carmy’s ‘In The Morning’ is already winning support from plenty of media big names, people like Robert Elms and Craig Charles. Like anyone listening, they’ll be enraptured by the music and its prescient message which focuses on good intent despite the drawback of procrastination: “I change the TV station, there goes my motivation/before the evening comes I’ll say I’ll try again in the morning…”
CARMY LOVE’S ‘In The Morning’ is released on all digital platforms on December 2nd and there’s a 7” vinyl coming very soon. Find out more @ https://www.bigacrecords.com/
