IN THE MIX…

Two recent soul and dance cuts have just enjoyed the remix treatment and both these new tweaks command your investigation.

You may remember that last month JORGE MONTIEL & JUAN LAYA with stellar vocalist XANTONE BLACQ, delivered a big sunny, remake of the 2002 dance tune from French duo, Cassius, ‘When The Sun Goes Down’. It was  a delightful, Latin-tinged dancer that had the salsa crew satisfied.

Want more? Well Jorge and Juan have called on the mixing skills of French producer Tommy Glasses  and Monsieur G tightens things up in his charming gallic disco way. It big brash and beaty and (like the original) full of sunny optimism and the promise of good times! Out via Imagenes Recordings.

It was also in May that GEORGIE B and his ever-dependable GROOVE ASSOCIATION invited us to his ‘Soul Night’ – a proper modern soul anthem. Ever-busy, George has been at the mixing desk and crafted a lovely, 80s flavoured tweak – “the Control mix”, if you would. Odd name maybe,  but our man’s in control of the tight beats and the sweet soul flavour – a good ‘un and out now!
