Two of the classiest recent soul singles have just won remix status. First up MARC STAGGERS’ Luther Vandross flavoured ‘You Make Me Feel’ has just been given a “Smooth Jazz” makeover. It was already smooth and sophisticated and the new tweak adds even more polish with one of its chief attractions being the interplay between Marc’s lovely vocal and Brian Cunningham’s slinky, mellifluous sax work. Out now via Expansion/Bandcamp.
Secondly we can soon enjoy a new look at ANTHONY DAVID AND ALGEBRA BLESSETT’S cover of BeBe and CeCe Winans’ ‘Heaven’. The Atlanta singers’ released their version of the lovely, inspirational song a few weeks ago and now we can enjoy it all over again in an “Amapiano Mix”. Production here is by Eddie ‘Cheat Code’ Stokes and the new, different treatment reflects the time Anthony spent in Africa and his love of Afrobeats and Afro house.
