DJ, Writer, Producer, Mixer and general man about tasteful dance music CHRIS BANGS has been really busy over the last few years! There was his 2022 collaboration with Mick Talbot, ‘Back To Business’ which was followed by the 2023 release ‘Firebird’. Then earlier this year Mr B launched his acclaimed Nova Vida project. Not one to sit upon his ample laurels, “Bangsy” is preparing the release of a whole new LP, ‘Dream World’ (above). We’re told that the 9 tracker will be good to go via Acid Jazz on September 20th.
Whilst we wait we can enjoy the lead single – an energized cover of George Duke’s ‘My Love’. The take is a huge Latin romp with shimmering, virtuoso piano from Luciano De La Rosa. Mr Bangs, by the way, (apart from producing and mixing) handles bass, drums and percussion. This ‘My Love’ is one of two covers on the album – the other being a reverential look at the Michael Henderson /Norman Connors classic ‘You Are My Starship’.
