Californian band, THEE HEART TONES have released a slew of captivating retro flavoured soul singles this year and the good news is that there’s a whole album on the way –’Forever & Ever’ (above). It’s not due till August but while we wait, the band have just released a taster single – a sweet, deep and gentle, Low Rider ballad, ‘Holding On’.
It delivers a similar retro sound to their previous singles – ‘Forever And Ever’, ‘Sabor A Mi’, ‘Cry My Tears Away’ and ‘No Longer Mine’.
This new ‘Holding On’ is a perfect showcase for the naïve vocals of Jazmine Alvarado which float seductively over the Leon Michels (El Michels Affair) and Tommy Brenneck (Menahan Street Band) string garnished production and listen out for a clever glockenspiel break. Out now via Big Crown!
