WILSN is the musical alter ego of young Aussie singer, Shannon Busch. Based in Melbourne, she studied at the city’s prestigious Victorian College of the Arts and was soon a fixture on the city’s music scene. A move to Nashville saw Ms W working to hone her craft – writing and performing.
After serving that apprenticeship, she released a few EPs and has just released a single…. a tight, Northern soul flavoured ‘If You Wanna Love Me’. The song’s pacey and full of classic Northern flourishes and Wilsn delivers convincingly, building to quite a climax. Her people are making comparisons to Amy Winehouse and even Etta James… let’s reserve judgment till we hear a little more – a full album, maybe? But this ‘If You Wanna Love Me’ shows huge promise.
