DONNIE TATEM is a US soul man with roots in Gospel. He’s worked with groups like Gentlemen Of Leisure and the acappella gospel group The Stars Of Harmony. Donnie’s now amongst the slew of artists to enjoy revitalised careers via Philly retro label SOCIETY HILL RECORDS.
That label is the vehicle for Mr T ‘s latest single, a big ballad, ‘Tonight I Give In’ – a cover of the Angela Bofill single from 1983. Between them Donnie and producer Butch Ingram have delivered a fresh but still lush perspective with sweet BVs from label mates Tru (another group Donnie’s worked width). This new take on ‘Tonight I Give In’ is out now.
