Dubai-based MUSTHAVESOUL (yep, that’s right, no gaps!) is one of house music’s best loved club brands. After a recent hiatus in their activities the set up is all set to relaunch it own record label…. ‘MustHaveSoul’.
Kicking the whole thing off is a new 2 track EP from EUGENE GLASGOW with the putative A side being a mighty slab of old school house music called ‘Someday’. The beats are hard and the minimal vocal is looped like it used to be back in them olden days! It’s infectious if you can get past the drawn out intro.
The EP’s second tune is the crisper, more soulful ‘I’ll Do Anything’. It features a great bass line, spaced out electronics and a semi-vocoded spoken vocal that’s not quite a proper vocal, if you see what I mean! Whatever, along with ‘Someday’ it makes an auspicious restart for MustHaveSoul.
‘Someday EP’ will be released on Traxsource promo December 7th with full release December 21st 2015 on MustHaveSoul.
