BEN PIRANI is one of a growing number of blue-eyed soulsters looking back to the 60s and 70s for their musical inspiration – something that’s self-evident on the lead single from Ben’s current EP, ‘Something So Precious’.
Track in question is ‘I Know It Hurts’, a soft, melancholic, funerary ballad which Ben delivers in his usual idiosyncratic way while his band, The Means Of Production offer gentle accompaniment and sweet, 60s group style harmonies. Amongst the intrigue is a haunting flute tracking the lead vocal… the flute, by the way, comes courtesy of Brian Jackson!
