Here’s a real welcome blast from the past from Italian jazz guitarist/DJ/producer/all-round good guy NICOLA CONTE – a vinyl reissue of his acclaimed 2011 album, ‘Love & Revolution’.
For the album Nicola welcomed a long list of guests – some well-known, some not so well known. Amongst the “not so well known” back in 2011 was a certain GREGORY PORTER! For the album Mr P lent his sonorous, soulful vocals to two tracks – the gentle, easy-on-the-ear ‘Do You Feel Like I Feel’ and a blistering jazz workout, ‘Ghana’.
Of course, given what’s since happened, those two cuts have become much sought after, so to satisfy demand, the label SCHEMA RECORDS are releasing them on vinyl as a precursor to the vinyl release of the full ‘Love & Revolution’ album. (This will be the first vinyl release of the LP by the way).
The single’s good to go right now and ‘Do You Feel Like I Feel’ is absolutely worth investigating. Indeed back in 2011 it was acclaimed by soul and jazz tastemakers but then seemed to slip under the radar. Don’t miss it now!
