JOE PROBERT is a proud Bristolian but now works out of New Zealand! He got into soul at a tender age – playing drums in a soul band aged just 13 and he’s been making music ever since.
His latest project is a three track EP, ‘The Nose’ which we have to say isn’t classic soul – it’s Mr Ps’ idiosyncratic take on the genre and I guess we could file it more under “funk” than “soul”!
The three tracks ‘No Hot Fever’, ‘Tired of Waiting’ and ‘Toe the Line’ are all underscored by our man’s inventive drum patterns and delivered in an highly original vocal style.
