EUGENE COLE is a smooth soul singer with a sound not too different to Peabo Bryson. We believe he’s part of the famous Cole clan and over the years we’ve enjoyed sporadic releases from him – most notably odd tracks on Preston Glass compilations.
His latest single is ‘Why Are You Holding Back’ which is a subtle blend of smooth jazz and sophisticated soul – very much in the manner of the aforementioned Mr Bryson. Con Funk Shun’s Felton Pilate is on the cut too, offering vocal harmonies. It’s out now.
