Back in Spring (just pre-lockdown) we were introduced to a new dance collective from Manchester … 161 – the city’s STD dialling code. The team were marshalled by house music veteran JASON HERD (aka Juan Kidd). Herd has worked all over the shop … Global Gathering, Creamfields, Space Ibiza, Pacha Ibiza, Amnesia Ibiza, Redlight Paris, Space, Toolroom Knights and Pacha Brazil and plenty elsewhere and he envisioned 161 as a new age Motown style good time band to fill floors everywhere; a vision borne out by their bouncy and lovely ‘I Love Your Love’ single.
Jason and 161 are now all set to release the follow up with an EP featuring two tracks – ‘Remedy’ and ‘All About You’ – both equally energetic and both featuring impassioned vocals from Lisa Millett.
The ‘Remedy EP’ is out now via Traxsource promo with full release August 7th 2020 on the wonderfully named Weirdo Recordings.
