Award-winning British composer and trailblazing saxophonist Cassie Kinoshi, leader of seed, her Mercury Prize-nominated ten-piece ensemble, will be collaborating with the London Symphony Orchestra at this autumn’s London Jazz Festival. Entitled Nature’s HEART, the keenly anticipated collaboration will take place at the Barbican on Thursday 21st November 2024 and feature original Kinoshi compositions alongside performances of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 and Anna Clyne’s This Midnight Hour, directed by redoubtable conductor Ben Gernon.
Cassie Kinsohi launched her band Seed Ensemble in 2016 with the Mercury Prize-nominated album Driftglass. Their second album, Gratitude, a four-part suite for a large ensemble including musicians from the LSO was released earlier this year to great acclaim.
