Earlier this year ex-Isley Brothers stalwart CHRIS JASPER released an acclaimed covers album, ‘For The Love Of You’. It was named for the wonderful song he penned for and recorded with the Isleys. The long player featured Chris’s takes on other love songs and amongst them was a sensuous version of Van Morrison’s masterpiece ’Have I Told You Lately’. Interestingly before working on the song, Chris was only aware of Rod Stewart’s version, but the Morrison original remains the real template.
Demand for Chris’s version has led him to release his take, and his new, soulful ‘Have I Told You Lately That I Love You’ is out now on Gold City Records.
