Latest release from Ramrock Records is both intriguing and arresting – an EP with the unusual title ‘Eryka U Bad EP’ from newcomer MAXINE SCOTT.
Ms Scott is a an up and coming singer / songwriter of Russian-British heritage. She’s worked with dance act ADR but now, she’s branching out on her own with a sound that (as the EP title suggests) owes rather a lot to neo-soul icon Ms Badu. The Ep offers 5 mixes of the tune ‘Eryka U Bad’ – an atmospheric hybrid of 90’s R&B, Nujazz and neo-soul. The vocals are soft, other worldly even, creating a hypnotic, soundscape (or should we say dreamscape)?
The tune comes in the original mix alongside various North Street West mixes and the usual instrumentals It’s all good to go March 25th via Ramrock.
