First release of the new year from ever-reliable IZIPHO RECORDS is a wonderful tune from THE SOUNDS OF SUPERBAD, ‘Vibration’. It’s a delicious modern soul groove featuring a svelte and soulful vocal from Chicago-based ROBERT IMTUME OWENS.
The tune is offered in two mixes across both sides of the 7” vinyl. The original mix is faultless and a great new year soul starter while the “SOS Vibe mix” on the flip is heavier on the percussion, with extra strings and synths; the star of both sides though is the classic soul vocal from Mr Owens. Sophisticated soul doesn’t get better much than this.
