ACANTHA LANG is a New Orleans-born singer/songwriter. Now based in London, she impressed with her September single, ‘It’s Gonna Be Alright’ . That one was a follow up to her acclaimed 2021 debut ‘Sugar Woman’ EP.

Her latest single ‘Carry The Weight’ (like ‘It’s Gonna Be Alright’) is another Southern soul flavoured groove with a message for people who struggle to ask for help, even when deep down they aren’t coping too well (and for those trying to support their loved ones). The warm horns and soulful vocal add convincing  impact to the message. It’s a proper slice of old school soul feeling.

Acantha says: “I was talking with a friend and we both shared that we struggle to ask for help, especially when we need it the most. We realized that we both have friends who are also guilty of this. From there, the concept for “Carry The Weight” was born. A song about helping each other and learning that you can be strong and still accept help from the people who care about you.”
