Ace/BGP continue their reissue of the Flying Dutchman back catalogue with the release of LONNIE LISTON SMITH’S 1979 long player, ‘Reflections Of A Golden Dream’. Smith fans will know, of course, that through the 70s the keyboardist peddled his special brand of “spiritual jazz” and that his 1975 album ‘Expansions’ is the very definition of that unique genre.

The ten tracks of ‘Reflections Of A Golden Dream’ carry on where ‘Expansions’ left off. The album is awash with Smith’s signature analogue synthesiser sound played over Latinised rhythms . Vocals come courtesy of Donald Smith and there’s plenty of fine sax from David Hubbard. The album was Lonnie’s last for the Flying Dutchman imprint and it’s available now on BGP records.
