Latest release from LRK RECORDS features two sweet and soulful grooves from US singer, songwriter and producer JOHNNY BURGOS. With production from Jeremy Page, the cuts are ‘Hit Me Like’ and ‘Get Back’.
‘Hit Me Like’ was originally released in 2022 but LRK have picked it up to, rightly, bring it to a wider audience. It’s a smooth, retro-flavoured affair with a catchy melody showcasing Johnny’s mellifluous tones. ‘Get Back’ rides a similar groove. It’s a tale of the inability to accept the fate of a relationship that’s ended and Burgos delivers with just the right empathetic tone.
Both tracks are now available digitally but will be on a limited edition 7″ Vinyl Via LRK Records soon. LRK are also lining up the release of the singer’s cover of Neil Young’s ‘Old Man’ while the label is also preparing the release of a whole album on Mr Burgos. Watch this space!
