Glasgow International Jazz Festival organisers have just announced the full programme for the 2013 Glasgow International Jazz Festival. Set in various venues across Glasgow including the prestigious Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the City Hall Recital Rooms and the Old Fruitmarket, the programme features both big names and groundbreaking newcomers.

Amongst the headliners are the GRAMMY award winning BLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA who’ll be playing in the atmospheric surroundings of the Old Fruitmarket. The same venue hosts British soul and jazz legend GEORGIE FAME. His shows are noted not just for their musical quality but for GEORGIE’S insightful and amusing anecdotes covering his long and illustrious career.

Biggest coup for Glasgow though is a rare appearance by BURT BACHARACH. The era defining composer will be leading a full orchestra through all his biggest hits and, we’re told, you can expect some surprises too.

Also performing will be the octogenarian pianist STAN TRACEY CBE – with his quartet and his outstanding Scottish tenor-sax partner BOBBY WELLINS, Scottish singer CAROL KIDD, THE JAZZATEERS, Venezuelan pianist LEO BLANCO, Texan band SNARKY PUPPY, trumpeter MATTHEW HALSALL, the eclectic GOGO PENGUIN TRIO and Australian collective THE AMES ROOM

The GLASGOW JAZZ FESTIVAL run from 26th – 30th June and a full festival programme can be found along with ticket details @ www.jazzfest.co.uk
