GIVE PEACE A CHANCE!

New Orleans born PJ MORTON is the keyboardist in Maroon 5. He became an official member in 2012 but he also relishes  his own award winning solo forays. Indeed his first solo outings predate his days with Adam Levine’s gang. Oh,  and he’s also bagged himself 3 Grammys!

For his latest single, Morton has once again teamed up with Jo-Jo. The pair collaborated on last year’s US hit ‘Say So’ and now they offer us ‘My Peace’ – which Morton describes as “a stirring profession of love, this time replacing romance with self-care,” adding, “I think after going through so much these last couple of years, many people really got down to what’s truly important. And most realized that nothing is worth their peace.”

Sonically ‘My Peace’ sits on the cusp  of contemporary soul and R&B and is stuffed with catchy hooks on which the duettists’ voices blend beautifully. In addition to a horn arrangement interpolated from Outkast’s “SpottieOttieDopaliscious,”  there’s input from Mr. Talkbox who adds riffs and harmonies across the track. Clever and beguiling!

PJ MORTON/JO-JO My Peace out now via Morton Records.
