Soul anoraks will know a little something about all-rounder ALAN EVANS. Over the years the drummer has made music in all kinds of guises… amongst them Crushed Velvet & the Velveteers, Soulive, The 7 Day Weekend and, where it all started – the ALAN EVANS TRIO and that’s the name on the label of his latest release – a Booker T/Stax flavoured single, ‘Gimmie Some Momo’ (not sure what “momo” is!).
‘Gimmie Some Momo’ is the Trio’s first release since their 2021 album, ‘Elephant Head’ and we’re not sure if the release heralds a new album For your information, the two other members of the Trio are Kris Yunker (Hammond B3) and Johnny Trama (guitar).
