THE HARLEM GOSPEL TRAVELERS impressed all and sundry with their August album. ‘Look Up’. Indeed it’s being hotly tipped to feature in plenty year end “best of…” listings. Easy to understand why. It drew heavily on the classic gospel/soul tradition but was also totally contemporary.
If you fancy more, the band have just released a new single, ‘Do You Know The Man’ . It’s a cover of an old gospel standard and doesn’t appear on the ‘Look Up’ album but it’s every bit as good as any thing on it! It features traditional soul/gospel harmonies and a searing lead from George Marage.
