The Brass Funkeys are a UK nine piece and the clue to the music they deliver is in the name…yep, fiery, brass-fuelled, New Orleans-derived funk delivered with a sense of fun! The band are popular on the festival circuit and after the tribulations of the last few years, they’re pleased to be back on the road. And to celebrate their “comeback” they’re gearing up to release a new EP, ‘More Is More’.
To whet appetites, the Funkeys will be releasing a series of singles, the first of which, ‘Up And At Them’ has just been released. From what we’ve said up top, it’s as you’d expect – a blazing, brassy workout in the best tradition of New Orleans’ best combos. There’s plenty of tight ensemble playing, peppered with fiery solos.
