Since its release earlier this month a lovely tune by the name of ‘Sparkle’ has been winning friends right across the soul community. The artists behind the luscious slab of modern soul are DIMITRIS and SULENE. Yes, they do sound a little like, say, a Las Vegas magic duo but they are proper soul veterans with impressive track records.
Dmitri’s (Dimopoulos) is a Greek born music multi tasker who’s has worked with people like Steve Gadd, Jeff Lorber, Nathan East and Don Grusin. Sulene (Fleming) is, of course, the lead singer with the Brand new Heavies. The pair came together earlier in the year to work on album that’s due for release in July. We believe that the lovely ‘Sparkle’ is the set’s title track indicating there’s a lot to look forward to. More news on the album as soon as we have it!
