MISTER COTTON is an old school soul singer who says his heroes and influences are people like Bobby Womack, Teddy Pendergrass, R Kelly, and Gerald Levert. With two albums under his belt, he’s now putting the finishing touches to his third long player set for release in spring.
In the meantime his label Grynd Tyme Entertainment will release the first single on 18th March. The tune is a simple, uncomplicated, old fashioned dance item simply called ‘Get On The Dance Floor’. Mr C says the aim of the tune is to “take us back to a time when music educated our ears and Soulfulness was flowing from Radio stations all over the world”. Listen hard and you’ll detect a hint of Cheryl Lynn’s ‘Got To Be Real’ too,
Helping Mister Cotton to deliver, is Philly rapper Adlib who, without getting too much in your face, offers plenty of encouragement to help us get onto the floor!
