Over the years fans of Southern soul in general and CLARENCE CARTER in particular have been wonderfully served by Ace /Kent who’ve sensitively curated the back catalogue of the legendary Muscle Shoals FAME studios… and by extension one of their biggest “names” – Clarence Carter.
Ace/Kent have issued dozens of Carter tracks on compilations and have also reissued his first two albums and now they offer his third and fourth long players – ‘Testifyn” and ‘Patches’ on a “twofer”. The long players include seven R&B top 30 hits – including, of course, ‘Patches’ – Carter’s biggest global hit.
