New(ish) kid on the Philly soul block, ROBERT GEE was discovered as a teenager by Patti Labelle. Encouraged and mentored by Miss Patti, young Robert went on to win the famed Apollo Amateur Night . He then earned his soul apprenticeship working with people like Luther Vandross, The Emotions, Teena Marie and Be Be Winans.
In 2008 he debuted with ‘Here We Go’, followed in 2010 with the Amazon Top 10 R&B single ‘All My Love’. After a hiatus Robert is now promoting his new project … ‘Robert Gee-The EP’. The lead cut is a gentle R&B swayer, ‘All I Ever Wanted’ which proves why Patti Labelle had so much faith in Robert. He’s in fine, soulful form . The Grant Nicholas produced track (credits include Ne-Yo, Ledisi, Yolanda Adams, Musiq Soulchild, and Angie Stone) manages to sound totally contemporary while having its roots in proper old school soul.
