Over the past year or so, we’ve featured plenty of classy music from Liverpool collective BALTIC JAZZ and Scouse blue-eyed soul man, MT JONES. So we’re delighted to report that the two have come together to deliver a delightful new soul single, ‘Forever and A Day’.
You’ll know that Baltic Jazz is headed up by garlanded, veteran music producer Steve Levine while over the past two years Mr Jones has wowed all and sundry with his gentle but sincere take on the soul genre; thus ‘Forever And A Day’ is a proper match made in heaven! The track sounds classic yet modern. Its expressive and emotional, featuring lush string and horn arrangements.
Steve says: “The writing process with MT Jones was really enjoyable. We both share a love and a passion for classic soul music, in particular the later period of Motown and Philly soul. The production techniques and orchestration used by those producers and arrangers of that era was really our starting off point. Whilst this track shows our love of vintage soul production, it’s very much a 2024 session recorded using all the modern technology that I have available in my studio.
