The eagerly awaited new album from MICHELLE DAVID & THE TRUE-TONES, ‘Brothers And Sisters’ wins release today, April 5th via Record Kicks.
We’ve already enjoyed two singles from the album – the title track and ‘That Is You.’ Both were properly old school – brisk, brassy and brash!
The album is an energy-packed 12 tracker and delivers plenty more of the same. Northern fans might enjoy the parping, 100 mph ‘If You Don’t Try’; ‘More Grace’ has a southern soul, down home flavour; ‘Peace’ is a soulful ballad; while right now we’re really enjoying the optimistic, melodic ‘Miracles’. Something for everyone here.
The album was produced by band members Paul Willemsen and Onno Smit who alongside drummer Bas Bouma and of course Michelle herself deliver conviction and passion. Add a powerful horn section and you have soul music as it was meant to be!
