There’s a lovely little tune doing the rounds right now that’s being tipped as one of the hottest of Autumn cuts. It’s ‘I Found Love’ from ROSE SPEARMAN and SOUL CITY CONNECTION.
Ms Spearman is a mixed race soulstress who, last time we heard, was based in Holland. She boasts an impressive CV that includes performances at places like Glastonbury and the Montreux and the North Sea Jazz Festivals and she’s crossed genres via collaborations with people like Kerri Chandler, Roger Sanchez, Solomon Burke, Jools Holland and KT Tunstall, while her singles like ‘Live Like A Rocket’ have been well received. Soul City Connection, you might recall, is one of the various guises in which master mixer/producer NIGEL LOWIS operates.
Nigel and Rose have been working on ‘ I Found Love’ for something like six months – no expense spared! It features live bass , lovely live strings and a big, big classic Brit soul production. It wins official release on September 21st but watch this run and run right through to the big party season!
