MARCUS MALONE is a Detroit vocalist who we last heard fronting T.O.E’s 2022 soul chart rider ‘Say it Loud’. Before that Marcus had been working with Dan Smith of the Noisettes and that duo recently decided to work together on an old school R&B/soul album. They wanted to make music that drew on their mutual love for all things Stax, Motown, Chess, 70s funk and retro soul.
The LP is almost finished., Its ‘’Interstate 75′ and will hit us in April. In the time honoured fashion, the duo – now working as Marcus Malone & The Motor City Hustlers – have released the first single – a fierce, feisty and funky ‘Can’t Take The Fight’. It’s a real tight, relentless grinder and little wonder that Craig Charles is championing it. The rough-hewn, bass heavy sound is right up hi street! Label is Ramrock by the way.
