‘Blue’ is the latest single from UK soul band MAD YELLA. It’s the follow up to their lovely ‘Being With You’ which won hearts and souls at the back end of last year.
The band first came together in 2018 as a 5-piece collective of friends who met through university music studies and a shared influence and love of Jazz-Funk, Neo Soul and R&B. Now numbering six (Will Evans – Lead Guitar; Kojo Degraft-Johnson – Lead Vox; Sam Moore – Drums; Jackson Boardman – Keys; Chin – Bass; Elijah Paul – Saxophone), their first singles were ‘Sequoia’ and ‘Lovin” but it was the catchy ‘Being With You’ that really started to get them noticed.
Now, it seems ,’Blue’ is all set to build on that success. Already play listed on the best soul stations, it’s a sweet, simple and gentle groove with some fab harmonies … a little like the sound of Mamas Gun. There is a Yella album on the way but you can enjoy their ‘Blue’ from May 29th on SO:UK. Recommended.
