LINCOLN ZAY GILMORE was an original member of Philly band, Breakwater. He was the band’s guitarist and now he’s fronting his own combo – LA’ZAY whose tune ‘I Just Want To Love You (Tonight)’ made waves at the back end of last year.
Vocalist on the track was old Breakwater partner Gene Robinson while Breakwater bassist Steve Green was in there too alongside Joe Johnson on percussion.
The tune is now back with us in a new, shorter remix. In truth, it’s not that different to the original 2021 mix. What seems to me missing is the Santana style guitar break (which explains the new, truncated length). Wisley the remix retains Lambchop Curry’s delightful piano fill. Out January 4th.
