He is undoubtedly one of the UK’s great music treasures… but for some strange reasons GEORGIE FAME is ignored by the establishment who are quick to honour and laud lesser talents. Be that as it may, Mr. POWELL – from Leigh, Lancashire – continues to work and record and his fans (collected over a fifty year career) will be delighted to know that there’s a new album on the way.
The album – ”Lost In A Lover’s Dream” – is something of departure for GEORGIE. It’s a laid-back affair of romantic ballads and philosophical blues featuring the singer in the intimate setting of just guitar and bass – courtesy of PRIMOŽ GRAŠIČ from Slovenia and MARIO MAVRIN from Croatia respectively. The materail is a mix of standards, pop classics and originals – all delivered with the jazz creativity that FAME has become famous for.
No doubt the man will be featuring materail from the album when he takes to the road in the Autumn. Tour dates are as follows
