Soul Junction’s latest single release features Milwaukee harmony group FAIRPLAY. The members of the group served their musical apprenticeships in the 60s and 70 in bands like THE CANDI BARS, FOUR SOULS and an incarnation of THE ESQUIRES (remember ‘Get On Up’ and ‘My Sweet Baby’?). DAVID BURSEY was FAIRPLAY’S lead singer and he also recorded solo under the name of NOAH … some rare groove collectors might remember his ‘Got To Get Away’.

In the 1990s FAIRPLAY recorded a number of tracks for an album that, sadly, never materialised and it’s from those cuts that the Soul Junction soul sleuths have uncovered ‘Don’t Let Our Love Go’. The song is an uplifting modern soul dancer with a funk undertow. The vocals and harmonies are superb (as you’d expect from soul group veterans) and the brass backing is tight and punchy. The 45’s B –side features the song’s backing track and you can find out more @ www.souljunctionrecords.co.uk
