DAISY GODFREY is a new(ish) kid on the UK soul block. She hails from Nottingham and right now she’s busy promoting her latest single – a gentle, nu-soul meander ‘Fade Away’.
Sadly, don’t know too much about Daisy save she cites amongst her influences Sade and Corinne Bailey Rae and on ‘Fade Away’ you can hear shades of both. There’s the laconic feel of classic Sade and the laid-back delivery of Ms Bailey Rae. The whole thing is dreamy and melodic with Daisy describing the song as a “a soulful love letter to the heart”. Easy to hear why the cut is already winning support from Gilles Petersen and Jazz FM.
Daisy Godfrey’s ‘Fade Away’ will be officially released November 27th.
