The leading UK soul indie label, Expansion Records, has several tasty soul releases due for release in the autumn.
First up is a twofer that combines a couple of albums by the ’70s vocal group, THE MAIN INGREDIENT. 1973’s ‘Afrodisiac‘ is combined with ’74’s ‘Euphrates River‘ – the latter set includes the group’s brilliant rendering of Brian Auger’s ‘Happiness Is Just Around The Bend’ and a great take on Willie Hutch’s ‘California My Way.’
Another tantalsiing twofer comes in the shape of Washington DC singer RONNIE DYSON’S ‘The More You Do It‘ (1976) and ‘Love In All Flavors‘ (1977).
A new 18-track compilation, ‘Love Vibes,’ is also available from Expansion. It includes great tracsk from the likes of The Emotions, Rose Royce, Michael Henderson, Tavares, Lenny Williams, Melba Moore, DeBarge and many more.
