Remember Solar disco group, DYNASTY? Sure you do. They were put together in the late 70s by Dick Griffey and Leon Sylvers to help fuel the disco boom. Originally a trio – Kevin Spencer, Nidra Beard and Linda Carriere – they enjoyed some success with a series of light, frothy, optimistic dancers with the best being the more convincing ‘Adventures In The Land Of Music’. Over the years band membership was fluid to say the least but sometime member Wardell Potts Jr is working to keep the brand alive with his Dynasty Entertainment group.
And right now the revived Dynasty have just issued a new single… ‘Escape’ – a real time-piece capturing the upbeat and classic Solar sound. The cut’s tag line is “it’s OKAY to dance again” … and why not? If it feels good do it!
