Fans of live 60s music may well like to check out oddly named French band, LES CHAUSSETTES SAUVAGES (which if my old A level French is still good, roughly means “Wild Socks”!) Whatever, the six piece are marshalled by self confessed 60s freak Yvon Waldteufel and they specialise in playing (and recording) classic 60s songs across all genres…. however what they offer aren’t quite straight cover versions. The band put their own French language lyrics over familiar Beatles, Beach Boy and Motown tunes. Their repertoire is varied and wide ranging and we’re told that their live shows are well worth catching.
