ECHO…ECHO!

Memphis-born, New York-based GEDEON LUKE made loads of friends and fans at the back end of last year with his ‘Live Free & Love’ album. Backed by his own band, The People, Mr Luke served up a tasty soul dish that channelled ingredients developed by giants like Prince, Sly Stone, Lenny Kravitz and dear old Curtis Mayfield.

One of the album’s choice cuts was ‘Echoes’ – a wah-wah fuelled item that properly summed up where Gedeon was coming from. The tune’s just been handed a major make over from Scandinavian meister mixer Opolopo (Peter Major) who adds a distinct 80s Weekender sound to the track. Suitably dubbed “The Boogie Bounce Remix”, the tweak comes in two versions – full length (6 minutes plus) and a more radio friendly version.

‘Echoes’ will form a double A side release coming end of May in the UK – including the album’s lead single ‘Live Free’. Find more @ www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN6jR_bSMaE  The single will be released on Monocentric/Absolute … www.monocentricmusic.com
