E FOR EVERIS…

Just before Christmas, UK soul man EVERIS (Pellius) released his album, ‘Songs In The Key Of E’ which, his team tell us, is now widely available.

Everis’ name might at  first glance seem low profile but he boast an impressive CV – he’s worked with (amongst others)The Jones Girls, the JTQ, Jocelyn Brown, Kym Mazelle, Mica Paris Gabrielle, Don‑e, Kenny Thomas, Omar and veteran soul man… Cliff Richard – no, we didn’t really mean that. But Everis has worked with dear old Cliff! He’s also written and/or produced music on The Jones Girls, Wayne Marshall, Chico, Aswad, The Beat Masters, Home Boy Hippy, Carl Cox, Deborah Bell, and Shaila Prospere and he regularly work with Georgie B and his Groove Association!

With so many “names” in his phone book, it’s little wonder that his ‘Songs In The Key Of E’ has a classy guest list. Amongst those helping him deliver are Shirley Jones on  ‘This I Know’ and ‘Come Home Tonight’ and Deborah Bell who helps out on the sweet groove that is ‘I Want Your Love’. Then any number of guest remixers deliver different spins on some of the tracks while there’s a “live” track, ‘Any Way’, which was recorded in Paris The French capital holds a place I n Everis’ heart; he enjoyed a French no. 1 in 2001 fronting Superfunk on ‘Last Dance’.
