Good old COLEMINE RECORDS are lining up a new vinyl 45 on DURAND JONES AND THE INDICATIONS. However the tracks on the 7” aren’t exactly “new”. The disc’s A side is ‘Too Many Tears’ which first appeared on the band’s acclaimed 2019 album, ‘American Love Call’ . You’ll know that’s it’s a lovely, sweet, harmony ballad which the label PR people call “sophisticated lounge-pop for dinnertime at a hip debutante ball in 1962”. Whatever – Aaron Frazer’s silky falsetto is superb.
Mr F’s also out front on the vinyl’s putative B side – ‘Cruisin’’ To The Park’ .On this release ‘Park’ becomes ‘Parque’ and Latin indie alternative/experimental band, Y La Bamba win a credit – clearly to appeal to the Latino Low Rider fraternity! Like ‘Too Many Tears’ this is a 2019 harmony ballad that never made the final cut for the ‘American Love Call’ LP.
This new 45 will be good to go from 17th November and there’s a limited edition Sea Glass Blue vinyl pressing too. You can learn more via the Colemine website.
