In their mission statement French production trio MIND STREET (Jess, Stif and Baby Duke) say they aim to fuse elements of Soul, Funk, House, Afro and Electronic music into a contemporary setting.
Check if they’re complying by investigating their latest single – a pulsing dance item ‘You Need This Time’ which features the vocal expertise of Yorkshire’s own Pete Simpson whose gospel roots shine through on his performance. (He also wrote the tune’s lyrics by the way).
‘You Need This Time’ comes in two mixes – the original marries live and electronic instrumentation and offers a driving beat while the Sean Ali remix is a smoother vibe altogether – a bit of a throwback to the classic Naked sound. Out now
