Soul bassist DOUGLAS GRIGSBY died on Wednesday 17th February. Born in Philadelphia, it’s believed that the bass player suffered a major stroke last September from which he was never to recover.

Grigsby will be best remembered for his work with Teena Marie. He was her musical director for over 20 years. He also worked with Patti Labelle (he joined her band when he was just 13!), Regina Belle, Phyliss Hyman, Michael Jackson, Rick James, Stephanie Mills and Ann Nesby. He also worked extensively with producer Nick Martinelli.
