The song ‘Gonna Get Over You’ is one of soul’s best-loved dancers – it’s been a clarion call to the floor since it was originally released back in 1982 by Canadian singer, France Joli. Then in 2001 dear Beverlei Brown launched her wonderful Full Flava version/mix of the song ( check out the delightful Bon Gracon mix of that one too!)
Now, no surprise, ‘Gonna Get Over You’ is back with us in a powerful, new version – the power coming from the pairing of two major, contemporary soul talents – SHAILA PROSPERE and TERRI GREEN!
We’re told that the France Joli original has long been a favourite of Ms Green’s and she always hoped to record it. In Shaila, she tells us, she’s found the perfect partner to help her deliver the song in the way she hoped. Together the ladies create an impactful reading. Double dynamite for sure.
