‘Don’t Hold Back’ is the latest single from Italian multi instrumentalist ALEX PUDDU. Signor P tells us that he was aiming to create a soulful 70s/80s feel and to help him achieve just that he’s drafted in a certain GENE ROBINSON Jr to handle the vocals…. the brainy ones out there will know that Gene was/is the lead singer with Philly group, Breakwater… and indeed Puddu’s ‘Don’t Hold Back’ has a real Breakwater flavour… do you remember their ‘No Limit’?
The track was recorded in Copenhagen (vocals, we think, in New York) and apart from those vocals, Puddu’s Ernie Isley style guitar is another highlight. Bassist, by the way, is Paul Westwood who’s worked on plenty of sessions with David Bowie and Elton John.
