OUTPUT/INPUT is a multinational band of music biz vets who between them have worked with people like Chaka Khan, George Duke, Christina Aguilera, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and Dave Koz. The band are marshalled by Chaka Khan’s MD Melvin Lee Davis and during the various lookdowns the team have been recording remotely via their own studios but now they’re ready to actually release a tune … and what a great one they’ve chosen to debut with!
Track in question is a rousing ‘Soul Deep’ which features an instantly recognizable vocal from HAMISH STUART – ex AWB, of course!
Hamish wrote ‘Soul Deep’ and another AWB alumnus, Steve Ferrone laid down the tight beats while Davis took on bass duties with other band members adding their brass flourishes and bvs to create a contemporary soul tune with its roots deep in the classics.
We’re told that Output/Input have a few more cuts in the can (including more Stuart collaborations) and there may well be an EP on the way and some live shows (as long as the pandemic permits!). In the meantime, enjoy ‘Soul Deep’ – available via all the usual platforms.
